Class packages are priced by the number of classes. You can choose a package of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, or 10 classes. We will send you a message later so you can choose which of the available classes with the instructors you would like to take.
Learn Argentine Tango with some of the tango greats
The Bilbao Tango Festival & Cup will feature top-level dancers and teachers, each with their own style that encompasses the essence of Argentine tango.
Christina & Borja (locals from Bilbao) will give two free beginner level classes on Monday and Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
The classes with the guest teachers will be at an intermediate/advanced level.

The Mikel Trueba Kiroldegia sports complex is a 3-minute walk from the Oriol Palace. The hall is well-equipped with a good floor.
Our Teachers
Sebastián Avendaño & Tanya Gutiérrez
Sebastián and Tanya are professional tango dancers, choreographers, teachers, and producers with 23 years of experience. They are the general directors of the Tango Recuerdo Company and teach at the Blanco y Negro Argentine Tango School in Bavaria, Germany.
Sebastián is also the founder and director of A Puro Tango Dance Company, a two-time world champion in the professional group category.
They are regular figures in world competitions and festivals (being champions in Budapest, Istanbul, Bilbao and Paris) and won the European Preliminary in Buenos Aires in July 2026, entering directly into the BA Final.
As artists and teachers, Tanya and Sebastián combine stage experience, technique, musicality, and a profound cultural understanding of tango. Their work seeks to bring tango to new audiences without losing its identity, sharing both the richness of the social dance and the artistic and expressive power they have built over more than two decades of their career.
Fernando Galera & Pamela Colaneri
Fernando is a leading figure in Argentine tango and folklore and a regular judge in competitions. With over four decades dedicated to dance, he began his training at a very young age, entering the prestigious academy of El Chúcaro, Norma, and Nidia Viola. His path in tango has been shaped by great figures such as Juan Carlos Copes, Miguel Balmaceda, Pepito Avellaneda, Teté Rusconi, Pupy Castello, and Graciela González, among others.
Throughout his career, he has performed on stages and dance floors around the world with renowned artistic partners. He is currently embarking on a new chapter alongside Pamela Colaneri, an Argentine dancer and teacher.
Together, they understand tango far beyond technique: as a cultural experience, linked to its history, its codes, and its roots. Their teaching seeks to transmit an authentic and vibrant tango, respecting its essence and providing students not only with tools to dance better, but also with a deeper understanding of the culture behind every embrace.
Borja Alkalde & Christina Gómez
Borja and Christina are Argentine Tango dancers, teachers, and organizers with over 15 years of experience and a decade working together as a professional couple. Directors of Querido Tango Bilbao, they have taken their dance and teaching to various European festivals and events.
Their career encompasses both Tango Pista and Tango Escenario. In 2019 they were European Stage Tango Runners-Up in Münster and in 2016 they obtained third place in the Portuguese Preliminary for the World Tango Championship in Buenos Aires.
As teachers, they focus their work on connection, technique, biomechanics, and musicality, seeking a natural and personal tango. They are also the creators and organizers of the Bilbao Tango Festival & International Tango Cup and are responsible for Metropolitango in Spain.
Pablo Nievas
Pablo Nievas has over 30 years of experience teaching and promoting tango around the world. His connection to this dance began in childhood with his grandfather, learning the female role, and continued with solid training alongside great Argentine tango masters and milongueros, including Juan Carlos Esposito, Stella Maris Rivero, Rodolfo and María Cieri, and the legendary Pepito Avellaneda, whom he assisted in his classes.
Throughout his extensive career, he has performed in some of the most emblematic milongas and venues in Buenos Aires, such as Salón Canning, Confitería Ideal and Torquato Tasso, in addition to sharing the stage with renowned orchestras, musicians and singers of Argentine tango in Europe and America.
As a teacher, Pablo stands out especially for his pedagogy and his clear and coherent way of transmitting tango. After decades of research and teaching, he has developed his own method aimed at understanding movement in an organic, healthy, and natural way, always maintaining a deep connection with the roots and culture of Argentine tango.
