La Argenta Ensemble
The five members of La Argenta Ensemble are confirmed for Bilbao Tango Festival 2026!
We want live music to play an important role in our festival, to promote Argentine culture in Bilbao and enjoy dancing in the streets.

See them at the Serantes Theatre
A spectacular display of Argentine culture at the Serantes Theatre on Saturday, February 14th at 7pm. The five members of the ensemble will perform during the Tango Championship Final. Don't miss this opportunity to see the best Argentine tango dancers in Europe compete, alongside music from La Argenta orchestra, tango dance performances, Basque dances, and more.

See them in Santurtzi in street milongas
There will be an opportunity to see them perform in the streets at various locations throughout the town of Santurtzi on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as part of our free tango milonga events. The street performances will feature the following acts: "No me vengan con milongas," a duo formed by Fernando Herrera and Jimena Gonzalez, and the trio "Vale Tango." They will be playing danceable songs, so don't forget you dance shoes!

La Argenta is comprised of five seasoned musicians. The director, Fernando Herrera, on piano and voice, has spent his entire adult life playing in blues, rock and jazz bands and tango orchestras. La Argenta is his new group, focused on danceable tangos.
The formidable singer Jimena Gonzalez fills the stage with her presence and moving voice, along with Miguel Rodrigañez on double bass, Daniel Hurtado on violin, and Ivan Montero on bandoneon.
