Salsa & Bachata classes in Urduliz, Uribe Kosta. Starting in September, we'll begin Caribbean classes with Irene, our fabulous teacher from Cuba.

 

What do we work on in class?

The foundation is salsa. But with Irene, you'll also learn the oldest dance forms from which salsa as we know it today emerged: danzón, són, and rumba. We'll also learn other Caribbean rhythms like bachata, merengue, and cha-cha-cha.

 

How is the class organized?

We begin with solo dancing in front of a mirror so the body can tune into the rhythm, and we review free steps for each different rhythm. We then move on to learning partner dancing, starting with bachata and salsa.

 

What do I bring to class?

Comfortable clothing, sneakers, or dance shoes. You don't need a partner if you don't have one. The level is beginner/intermediate. We have a mix of people who are just starting out and some who have been dancing for a while, so we can help each other progress through the course. You can already know something about salsa dancing or come to class without having taken a single step in life! Irene is here to help, teach, give friendly feedback, and support you in the learning process.
