Our event
Over several days, the marathon brings together dancers from around the world, creating an atmosphere of shared passion in our colorful corner of Bilbao, in the Basque Country, famous for its food and wine. Here, participants, surrounded by couples who share their love and dedication to tango, can enjoy social dancing day and night in the captivating halls of the historic Palacio Oriol.

We'll have live music with the Guerrero-Capitano duo playing two sets during the marathon, and Leonel Capitano will be teaching his unique and practical musicianship classes throughout the event.

Location
We have a luxury venue to dance at this tango marathon in Bilbao!

URH Palacio de Oriol, in the town of Santurtzi, in Bilbao. Dance and sleep in a renovated 1906 palace converted into a hotel, declared a Historic Monument.

Dance in a spectacular ballroom with large windows overlooking the Bilbao Estuary and the Santurce fishing port. We've installed a 200 square meter wooden dance floor to keep your feet protected.

We'll open the hotel terraces to enjoy, chat, eat, and continue dancing in the summer sun.

The center of Santurce is a 5-minute walk away, and the center of Portugalete and the historic Bizkaia Hanging Bridge are a 10-minute walk away. Visitors can try the typical Basque pintxos or enjoy a delicious daily menu at a variety of nearby restaurants.

Public Transportation: The Peñota metro station is a 6-minute walk away, and the Peñota train station is a 2-minute walk away, taking you to the center of Bilbao. Bilbao Airport is 25 minutes away , and Santander Airport is 1 hour away.

Meet the DJs
Music is the soul of the Bilbao Tango Marathon. We have experienced DJs who can keep the tango party going at full speed. Each one has their own style and will add their own touch to each milonga.

Live Music
Duo Guerrero-Capitano will be playing some very danceable sets for us on Friday and Saturday nights.
Agustín Guerrero on piano and Leonel Capitano on bandoneon and vocals. They are two top-notch musicians pursuing their diverse tango and non-tango projects, and they have teamed up to combine their years of experience to create a new album of their own interpretations of popular tangos, "Noches Largas".

The Palacio Oriol is located between the Santurtzi and Portugalete neighborhoods—two very unique and beautiful corners of Bilbao. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the Peñota metro station and a one-minute walk from the Peñota train station.
It's a busy area, full of restaurants, bars, and other accommodation options.
