Intermediate Level
In our intermediate tango classes in Deusto, Bilbao, and in Urduliz at Uribe Kosta, you'll continue to develop the emotion and dynamics of your dance, master the dance floor skills to navigate milongas, and advance musical elements and more complicated sequences and movements.
Intermediate Argentine Tango Classes in Deusto and Urduliz
Once you've gained a solid understanding of the concepts in our beginner's course, you can continue your Argentine Tango journey by joining our Intermediate Tango Classes.
LEVEL: These classes are ideal for people who have been dancing for six months to three years, both at Querido Tango and with other teachers, and who have some experience dancing socially at milongas. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable on the dance floor, with the various orchestras, and dancing with different partners.
It is advisable to bring a partner to classes, although it is not essential.

We teach intermediate tango courses in our two dance studios from Monday to Saturday: at our studio in Deusto, Bilbao, and at our studio in Urduliz, Uribe Kosta.

Structure & Content of Intermediate Argentine Tango Classes
Your Intermediate Tango course will cover a range of techniques and elements of Argentine tango, including:
Improve your posture and specifically the 'Close Embrace' to create a gentle connection with your partner.
Perfecting the technique of leading and following to be able to create more fluidity
Improve your ability to dance dynamically at faster tempos with more style and at slower tempos. Begin to recognize and apply syncopation to dance.
Learn more figures in Tango such as Giros, Lapiz, Sacadas, Barridas, Colgada, Volcada, Boleos.
More decorations and ornaments for fans
Change the cadence of the walk according to the use of staccato or legato in the music.
Work more deeply into the elements of musicality, both rhythmic and melodic, and identify various orchestras.
What should you know to come to intermediate-level tango classes?
You should feel comfortable applying the following elements with any dance partner.
Walking to the beat in a tango embrace, open or closed.
Perform basic moves such as weight shifts, basic steps, front crossovers, front and back figure eights, cut figure eights, bounces, and the sandwich. Have a basic understanding of turns.
Have a basic idea of how musical phrases are structured.
Being able to rebound.
